Inspired by Fabric
Well, it's no secret that I am not a seamstress! When our prompt for today was to be inspired by fabric I pulled my very small collection out to see what I could see. I found this patchwork material from a tie my mom made for Mason, and thought, "well, I'll let this do the work for me!" I combined it with another challenge, which was to fold our paper so it wasn't flat. I have always loved these little paper rosettes, so I made an itty bitty one for the star. I love the look of this and am instantly craving a trip to the fabric store!

Pretty Paper Prompt #8
Back today with prompt #8. The ideas for today were to mix heavily patterned paper with a neutral. I Loved this challenge because I normally would have paired this paper with white, but instead I matted everything with grey. It was the perfect accent to the paper. This page is SUPER busy for me, but I am loving it!

Pretty Paper Party Prompt 2
Another prompt from Shimelle's class was to create a layout with the background being made completely from patterned paper. I was a little nervous about it, but once I found a sketch to use and started playing with the paper I fell in love. I love that it is a bit more busy than my other layouts. I love the die cuts. I'm always such a literal scrapper that if I see a dinosaur die-cut I think I have to wait to make a page about dinosaurs before I can use it. It is freeing to use what you have and love. I also tend to keep the things I just bought for a little while before I use them. I think that's common with us paper hoarders! Well, this scallop border was in a sheet of die cuts that had never even been put away it was so new! Talk about liberating! I think this class is helping me to realize the longer you keep something the more likely it is to go out of style, so use it while it's hot!

Pretty Paper Party Prompt 1
This is my first online class so I didn't really know what to expect. Once I became a little more familiar with the forum I decided to take a crack at the first prompt, which was to use strips of paper. This is good for me because I cut into a lot of paper, but always have a bit left that I love too much to throw away. So this was a bit of a stash buster for me, and I have to say I love the way it came out.

I can see this prompt being put to use in several different ways, which is wonderful. I also plan on putting the concept to use on several cards. I'll share when they're completed.
*the green around the layout is just a frame it is hanging in at the moment.
